Chalet Vallon

Chalet Vallon is on the second floor of a traditional chalet-style building shared with chalets Cascade, Santons and Charvet. 

The living and dining areas boast a homely feeling with plenty of wood panelling. The open plan kitchen is slightly separated leaving more space for the large dining table and comfy, plush seating. Furthermore, the direct access to the balconies provides stunning Bellvarde panoramas.

The chalet is split into two levels with 2 bedrooms located on the ground floor and 4 bedrooms, along with the host room on the upper floor. The quiet, cosy bedrooms are set with twin beds, and are all en-suite with baths or showers, all offering good storage space.  Every bedroom has its own private en-suite facilities which include a WC, washbasin, bath (with a shower attachment but no hook to hang up & no shower screen, its not possible to stand up in this bath) or shower or bath with a shower hung above the bath. The cosy bedrooms all have twin beds and these can be made into a double bed if you wish (please request at time of booking).  Bedrooms 2 & 5 have restricted head height in places due to being under the eaves of the roof of this traditional chalet building.

On arrival you will be welcomed with tea and cake and before dinner on your first evening, there will be a welcome drink. Chalet Vallon is a catered chalet with our Classic chalet board; continental breakfast & delicious afternoon tea and cake are served daily, hot breakfast options such as bacon, beans & eggs, sausage, tomatoes and eggs or a pancake stack and porridge with sprinkles are served on 5 mornings in addition to the continental breakfast.

Baguette To Go: at breakfast you will be invited to make your own ham & cheese baguette, to take out if you wish.

SkiWeekends chalet evening meals; we all look forward to the homemade 3-course evening meal with carefully selected wine included during dinner service, which is served on 6 evenings. This is all provided by your friendly SkiWeekends host who lives in.

Host Time Off: Please note that your host in this chalet has Tuesday all day off and Saturday morning off, this gives you an opportunity to dine out on Tuesday evening in Val d'isere where there are plenty of lovely local restaurants, not to mention an excellent choice of bars and shops. On your hosts mornings off, you can help yourself to a delicious continental breakfast, freshly baked croissants delivered to your door, ham & cheese lunch baguettes to go and afternoon tea and cake will be available for you to self serve.  During your stay, your host will cater for special diet requirements at no extra supplement, just so long a it is booked no later than a few weeks before travel. 

For families with younger children, a childrens menu can be pre booked before travel at no extra supplement.  When booking the chalet for private sole use, an earlier childrens dinner time (high tea) can be pre-booked for a supplement. 

The kettle is always on at a SkiWeekends chalet for you to help yourself to a great selection of hot drinks, your chalet host will ensure you will not go hungry and have food for energy for great days skiing.

Pre-booked lift passes will be waiting for you when you arrive at the chalet. Pre-booking these essential extras makes going skiing on arrival day even quicker, allowing you to maximise your time on the slopes.

On check in/check out days there is a bag store and small change area.  When possible a shower area will be made available to use too before travelling back to the airport.

Self drive guests, there is limited free car parking with restricted access for entry and exit in the underground car park.  Parking  subject to availability, please enquire & book when booking the holiday.

Chalet Vallon is a traditional French Apartment chalet, located within the Residence Le Gettaz on the first floor. Our other Val d'Isere chalets Cascade, Santons and Charvet are in the same residence making these chalets a great option for a large group to stay together in the same residence. Each chalet has it's own private entrance.

You can book just one room or the whole chalet for your friends and family.

Note: No pets are allowed in this chalet.

** Where the host lives in, they may or may not be the host looking after you during your stay. They have their own room and bathroom but you may see them using the chalet kitchen to prepare their food.

• Fabulous ski in, ski out location on the Santons red run,  leading to the central Val d'isere gondolas and chairlifts
• 10 minute walk / 5 minute ski to the ski school meet point
• 700m / 13 minute walk to Val d'Isere village centre
• 2 minute walk to blue line bus stop (this bus runs from 0830 to 2320 every 15 minutes to rond pointe de piste. At rond point de piste, connect to red line bus for high street, La Daille or Fornet)

First Floor - host bedroom

When booking a room you will be booking a room type rather than a specific room number. On arrival we will ensure you will have a room of the type you booked.

Baby Cots – due to the compact size of the bedrooms, no bedroom is suitable for a cot.

Ski & Boot Rooms - Chalet Vallon has its own secure boot lockers with boot heaters located in a communcal room with other chalets in the same building on the lower ground floor.  Access to the boot room is by steps or a lift. Chalet Vallon has three large, secure lockers for skis or boards only, located at the piste access entrance. 

Under-ground Car Parking - located on the lower ground floor are 3 FREE car parking spaces, these are shared between all four of the SkiWeekends chalets in the same building.  Pre-booking your car parking space is essential.  As its a secure car park, access is restricted to during host working hours only.  Please call SkiWeekends no later than 14 days before travel to arrange access on arrival and departure days.

Chalet chef & host day off is Tuesday and morning off is Saturday 

Chalet welcome and welcome drink is at 19:00, dinner is served at 19:30

On guest changeover days, between the hours of 09:30 and 17:00, both departing and arriving guests will be sharing the chalet public areas.

On arrival day - Your bedroom will be ready by 17:00 at the latest but normally earlier.

Late Arrival Supplement - if you choose to arrive at the chalet after 21:30 we will book a host to return to work to let you into the chalet, show you to your room, provide you with information to ensure your ski time is not delayed the next day and to provide you with a light supper. There is a supplement for late arrivals.

Check Out - bedroom checkout is 09:00 but we know that you may want to ski until the last minute, so we ensure that there is somewhere for you to leave your bags and change up until 17:00. Where possible a shower will be made available for you to use too; this cannot be guaranteed until your departure day.

Self Drive - Pre-booking the chalet car parking is essential; only 3 spaces  (max head height 2m) are available for 4 chalets, please book your parking space when you book your holiday

Your mini-bus transfer from the airport will take you directly to the accommodation, and drop you at the door of the chalet.
