Morzine Driving Directions

Driving To Morzine from Calais

If you're planning on driving to Morzine from the UK, more often than not you'll begin your journey on French soil starting from Calais. Both the Euro Tunnel and most of the popular ferry crossings arrive at Calais so this is where we've given you driving directions from.

Once you've disembarked, you'll first take the slip road for the N216. There are a number of options and exits here, look out for and follow the signs to the A216 (signs for A16/A26/Paris/Reims), then continue onto the A26, towards Reims. The roads here are all autoroutes (large motorways) with tolls along the way. Toll costs from Calais to Morzine are around 30 euros (one way).

Follow the A26 for 260km until you approach Reims, follow the ring-road which navigates to the west of Reims and merge onto the A4. Once south of Reims, the road merges back to the A26, all the while following signs for Dijon and Lyon. Once past the small town of Troyes the road merges onto the A5 and later the A31 towards Dijon.

Continue along the A39 towards Bourg-en-Bresse, then start following signs along the A40 towards Geneva. As you navigate past Geneva, prepare to move off the larger autoroutes and onto the smaller D roads. Turn off the A40 at junction 18 for MARNAZ / SCIONZIER / CLUSES, then look for the signs for Les Gets, Morzine & Morzine. From there, you'll have less than an hour of your journey left. Head towards Taninges, then follow the D902 and the Route d'Morzine towards Les Gets and finally arriving in Morzine.

The journey should take you around 9 hours, assuming you have a couple of short stops.

We ask you to arrive between 9am and 7pm if possible. You will be able to leave luggage in the ski room.

Driving To Morzine from Geneva AIRPORT

If you're flying into Geneva, renting a car then driving the rest of the way to Morzine, the driving directions are very similar to those mentioned above (from Geneva onwards), but we'll outline them here again.

The roads around Geneva airport are notoriously complicated, so make sure to take your time when driving here and to follow the proper signage. Initially you'll want to follow the A1 road, taking you away from the airport. Look out for a 90 degree turn to the left, follow the bend around and then watch for signs that say 'FRANCE'. Continue along the A1 then look for signs following A40.

Take the A40 and turn off at junction 18 for MARNAZ / SCIONZIER / CLUSES, then look for the signs for Les Gets, Morzine & Avoriaz. Take the D roads D902 to Route de la Manche (D338). Finally take the Route d'Avoriaz all the way to your destination in Morzine.

The journey from Geneva Airport to Morzine should take you 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic around Geneva.

Please be aware, there is space to parkup to 3 cars at Chalet Tavernier in Morzine, but only if the drive is free of snow and ice. For this reason, we are sorry car parking can not be guaranteed.
