Le Grand Bornand

Le Grand-Bornand Village view at night

Le Grand Bornand

Le Grand-Bornand is a picturesque resort located in the Northern Alps in the Aravis ski area. Split into two different places; Le Grand Bornand Village and Le Grand-Bornand Chinaillon. Le Grand-Bornand Village has a rustic charm about it and is where most facilities and local amenities can be found, whereas up the road in Le Grand-Bornand Chinaillon it is a quaint little hamlet. Though it is smaller, there is still plenty there to keep you busy! Both are linked together by a bus service which you can use for the week at just 10 Euros or for 2 Euros each time you use it – this bus also goes to La Clusaz.

Just an hour away from Geneva, Le Grand-Bornand is set in the perfect location for a couple’s ski weekend or a quick trip away with the family or with friends. Whilst in the area you should try some of the specialities to the Haute-Savoie region such as the Reblochon cheese with local charcuterie and then wash it down, some brandy with gentian flower which is traditionally distilled in the Aravis Mountains.

This is a family-friendly ski area and resort which boasts fantastic childcare facilities for if the adults want to get some serious skiing in! But for those more interested in the party scene, then be sure to try out some of the great après ski in Le Grand Bornand!
