France Re-Opens To British Skiers & Snowboarders

The fantastic news all British skiers and boarders have been waiting for has finally been announced! As of Friday 14th January 2022, British skiers can once again hit the slopes of the French ski resorts.

In summary, if you are double vaccinated against COVID-19 you can travel to France to go skiing or boarding without any quarantine restrictions on arrival or departure. You will need to do two lateral flow tests: one up to 24 hours before you depart, and one when you get home.

For more information on entry requirements for Coronavirus please see our Covid-19 page. Bring on the vin chaud and corduroy pistes!

Thousand of skiers had a disappointing start to the season, with their Christmas and New Year ski trips cancelled. This happened when firstly the Swiss borders were closed on the 28th November, then reopened them a few days later. Then shortly after, the French borders were closed on 16th December, citing the alarming rise in Omnicron cases in the UK.

It has taken longer than we hoped to reopen the French borders, but we just can't wait to help you get back on the slopes. Most of our customers have chosen to move their cancelled holidays to later in the season, meaning that March and April is really booked up already.

The snow across the Alps has been fantastic so far, with record snow falls in December 2021. The base levels are great, and there was fresh snow last weekend with cold clear January sunshine for the next week.

France remains the most popular ski holiday destination for Brits with an incredible choice of snow sure resorts from traditional alpine villages like La Clusaz to the mega resorts of the 3 Valleys and Espace Killy.
