Transarc Gondola In Les Arcs Gets Major Upgrade!

Transarc Old Lift

This winter (the 2024/25 ski season), Les Arcs is unveiling a major upgrade to one of its most iconic lifts: the Transarc gondola. With a sleek new design and cutting-edge technology, the revamped Transarc promises to significantly enhance the ski experience for all visitors, offering speed, comfort, and convenience like never before.

Starting from Arc 1800 and opening for the first time on December 14th, this new gondola takes skiers and snowboarders straight to the heart of the action, dramatically cutting down the travel time. What used to be a 20-minute ride to the summit is now just 13 minutes! This means less time sitting and more time skiing, so you can maximise your day on the slopes. Part of the Paradiski, those in La Plagne will also get to benefit from the update.

Whether you’re rushing to catch that first run in the morning or trying to squeeze in a few extra descents in the afternoon, the improved Transarc helps you make the most of every moment on the mountain. The exit point for the gondola will remain the same, meeting up with the Arcabulle lift (and others) at the plateau above Les Arcs 2000 and 1950. By cutting the lift time almost in half, you'll be able to navigate and ski around the area with much greater ease.

The new cabins are designed with comfort in mind, featuring spacious seating for 10 people. This is great news for families and groups of friends, who can now enjoy a more relaxed ride up the mountain. It also makes it easier to use the time wisely—grab a quick snack with the kids, check your messages, or just enjoy the experience. The panoramic views from the modern, airy cabins will also make for a more enjoyable journey, allowing you to soak in the stunning alpine scenery as you glide up to the top.

The new Transarc has also been designed with sustainability at its core, using cutting-edge technology to reduce energy consumption. As climate change continues to impact alpine environments, Les Arcs is committed to reducing its carbon footprint, and this new gondola is a step in the right direction. It operates more efficiently, consuming less energy while still delivering a top-tier experience for visitors. This ensures that future generations can continue to enjoy the stunning slopes of Les Arcs for years to come.
