Off-Piste Skiing and Snowboarding

Off Piste Skier

The 3 Valleys in France offer some of the worlds best off-piste skiing so when you get tired of over 600km of groomed slopes and wonderful mountain restaurants you may think about going off-piste. There is so much variety and choice you can literally spend your whole ski break skiing off-piste, just be sure to take some lunch with you.

The Chamonix Valley is another off piste* skiers dream! The off piste here is headed by the famous Vallee Blanche which enables skiing down from Mont Blanc from the imposing Aiguille d midi. This is a 17km long run that descends past beautiful blue glacier faces. As the descent picks its way between hidden crevasses, a Mountain Ski Guide is a must. Skiing the Vallee Blanche is an unforgettable experience that will be a highlight of any ski holiday. The Grand Montets area has several great off-piste runs with the Pas de Chevre being a highlight. This fantastic off-piste run goes from the top of the Grands Montets down to meet the Mer de Glace and then with good snow conditions you can ski down to Chamonix, a vertical descent of 2300 metres!

We have many other resorts across Europe which are very well suited to off piste skiing, the likes of Verbier and Engelberg in Switzerland, off piste skiing in Courmayeur in Italy, the world famous St Anton resort and Axamer Lizum in Austria amongst many, many other resorts that we offer - the choice is endless!

*Ski Weekends strongly advise that off-piste skiing should only be undertaken when in the company of a professional ski instructor or guide.
