SKI Area

The Kaiserburg ski area can be accessed via either the Maibrunnbahn chairlift or the Kaiserburgbahn gondola.  If you opt for the chairlift, you can kickstart your day by skiing down the "Franz Klammer" downhill run.  This run, classified as a fairly gentle black run, treats you to splendid mountain vistas that extend as far as Slovenia and the Tyrol.

In terms of difficulty levels, Kaiserburg offers a more limited selection of blue runs, with over 75 percent of the slopes in the region falling into the red category, which is best suited for intermediate skiers.  If you're a beginner, it's advisable to consider booking ski lessons with one of the resort's 4 ski schools and their experienced instructors.

While there may be a scarcity of truly challenging runs, this seems inconsequential when considering the overall quality of skiing at BKK. Notably, the black and red runs at the top of Kaiserburg II provide an enjoyable experience. The red FIS K70 ski route, in particular, stands out as it takes skiers all the way down to the valley through a picturesque pine forest.

St. Oswald, accessible from BKK by just a five-minute walk from the Maibrunnbahn to the Sonnwiesenbahn chairlift, offers a more beginner-friendly ski area. The lift pass conveniently covers both ski regions, and in St. Oswald, you'll find that most of the runs are short and delightful.

It's important to be aware that in both Kaiserburg and St. Oswald, the majority of ski lifts are T-bars.  While these T-bars can pose a challenge for some people, it's worth noting that they are generally of a gentler variety.

Après Ski

Ski huts dot the landscape both within the resort and up on the mountains, where live music adds a vibrant touch to your après-ski entertainment. A particular highlight is the Glass Palace, perched at the mountain's pinnacle, it's a favorite first stop for skiers at the close of the ski day, setting the stage for a lively and enjoyable après-ski experience.

In the evenings the town shifts into a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere, aligning itself with the overarching theme of wellbeing. For those seeking relaxation and rejuvenation, the resort offers numerous thermal spas and treatment rooms, providing a perfect post-mountain indulgence.
