    The skiing in Niederau is part of the Ski Juwel area which also includes resorts such as Oberau, Alpbach and Auffach; all together making up 145km of terrain linked, by a new 8-person gondola at Auffach and a ski bus. Niederau is perfect for beginners as the resort has excellent nursery slopes, great ski schools and gentle blues so people can confidently learn at their own pace. Almost all the pistes in Niederau are for either beginners or early intermediates making it perfect for families and mixed ability groups. Intermediate skiers looking for a challenge will enjoy the long, tree-lined runs heading back down towards the village. For those wanting something more challenging, head over to Auffach where you will find some excellent red runs, or stay in the valley and tackle the 4 black runs there. There is also some exciting off-piste skiing for the advanced skier and a good snow park down in Auffach.

    The resort

    This traditional, charming resort in Austria is the main resort in the Wildschönau and has long been a firm favourite amongst British beginner and early intermediate skiers. The resort itself is quite spread out with hotels, bars and restaurants scattered throughout the village. Being the liveliest resort in the valley, groups looking for a bit of après should head to the bustling bars and restaurants located around the main gondola station. The laid-back and friendly atmosphere in town and variety of après activities makes it an ideal resort for all types of families and groups. Other activities availible in Niederau include a Wave Water Adventure World, Olympic bobsleigh, cross-country skiing guided winter walks, snowshoeing, tobogganing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, modern luxury spa local museum and an art gallery
