Getting To Verbier By Train

Get the train from Geneva Airport

Now, you could get the train all the way from London, but in the interest of maximising your time on the slopes with a short break, well assume you're flying into Geneva airport. Once you've collected your luggage, simply head to the train station at Geneva Airport and purchase a ticket for "Verbier (télécabine)". This will cost around £23 - £30 per person. Then hop on the train to Martigny (in the direction of Brig). Switzerland and especially their rail network is geared up for efficiency, so you'll find the train station in the same building. From the airport, you'll head along the North side of Lake Geneva, pass through Lausanne, and the mountains will start looming into view. This leg of the journey takes around 1hr 40 mins.

Change at Martigny

As you traverse through the Swiss landscape, you'll eventually make reach Martigny, a charming town nestled in the Valais region of Switzerland. The change at Martigny marks a transition from the wide-open views of the French countryside to the snow-capped peaks of the Swiss Alps. Take a moment to stretch your legs and breathe in the crisp mountain air before boarding the connecting train to Le Châble. Don't get too comfy, the journey between Martigny to La Chable takes around 25 minutes.
