Skiing Alternatives

Non skiing activities in the 3 Valleys

It would be a lie to say every day of the season is perfect bluebird, as much as we wish it was. We’ve all had experiences of less than perfect ski holidays when the weather really hasn’t been playing ball. While the snow has been incredible for the majority of the season thus far, we have had the occasional days when only the most resilient skiers venture onto the mountain. So, we’ve compiled a list of a few things to do across the Three Valleys for days when you may not fancy skiing. However, with spring skiing just around the corner, it looks like these more challenging days will soon be behind us.

Meribel

Meribel Chaudanne’s Olympic complex boasts an Olympic sized swimming pool as well as an Olympic ice rink, right next door to a bowling alley and video games room. When the weather’s not so great, this is the perfect alternative to skiing. Plus, you’re within walking distance of all the restaurants and shops in Meribel.

Courchevel

Even if the weather’s good, Aqua Motion just below Courchevel 1650 is worth a visit. More than just a swimming pool, the complex offers luxury spa treatments, indoor surfing and even rock climbing. Safe to say, you won’t be left missing the slopes.

Les Menuires

Avoid the clouds and snow and let Hollywood whisk you away somewhere magical with a visit to the Cinema Les Bruyeres. With regular showings in English, it’s a great place to spend an afternoon. Alternatively, those staying at our Chalet Sapiniere can relax the day away at the nearby spa with a Scandinavian whirlpool, two saunas and a Turkish bath.
