The Best Views in the Three Valleys

3 Valley views ©Chloe Robichon

Sadly, the weather hasn’t been the best the past week or so, which meant skiing high was a very cold and very soggy affair. Luckily for us (and our radiators), the weather this week has started to clear up and sunshine is on the menu! When the weather is great, the best thing to do, in our opinion, is to get on the first gondola you see and get as high as possible and fill your camera roll with plenty of shots to make everyone at home very jealous. Almost every view in the Alps is picture perfect but some stand out more than others and really take your breath away. So next time the sun is out, grab your skis and find one of our favourite beauty spots and get snapping!

Tougnette Peak – shoot straight out of Meribel Chaudanne on the Tougnette gondola and straight onto Tougnette 2 chairlift. From the top, you’ll be greeted by spectacular views across Les Menuires and Saint Martin.

Saulire Peak – famous for its views across the national parks and of Mont Blanc. Head up the Saulire gondola from Meribel Chaudanne right to the top and take in the epic panorama.

Pyramids Run, Courchevel – Slightly more of a hidden gem than the previous two, the best way to get here is via the pyramids button lift from just above Courchevel 1650. It takes a while so many people can’t be bothered but it really is worth the effort. Stand still for a moment and take in a different angle of Mont Blanc and just enjoy the silence.

Mont Vallon, Meribel Mottaret – Arguably the most famous peak in the 3 Valleys, it does not disappoint. Accessible from all angles: Lac de la Chambre from Val Thorens or Bouvreuil from Les Menuires and Meribel, it’s a must-do on any trip to the 3 Valleys. Expect to be surrounded by immense views across the national parks and sheer drops into deep bowls, broken only by snow-topped jagged peaks.

Orelle - The fourth valley, and in our opinion, the area’s best-kept secret. On a sunny day, the whole area becomes one huge sun basin. Take your sun cream because you will be working some serious goggle tan by the end of the day! Every angle is a perfect photo opportunity. Clear your phone memory before you leave in the morning because it will be full again by the time you return home.
