So, summer is finally upon us, and here at Ski Weekends, we’re pining for the snow already. Even though skiing is never far from our minds, we understand that next years’ ski break may not be at the forefront of yours. Sure, you want to get that summer fix and even out that goggle-tan however, believe us when we say, that there are numerous benefits to looking forward and booking that ski trip nice and early. So, before you rush off on your fabulous summer holidays perhaps take a little look at the top ten reasons for booking your ski holiday over the summer. Take it from us, it’s the way forward, and we know a thing or two about ski holidays...

1) Make the most of cheaper flight prices...

It’s a well-known fact that the earlier you book, the less you pay. You see, from this moment forward, flight prices will only rise. But fear not our ski-loving friends because if you book this summer you will beat the flight price incline meaning you’ll have some money left in the pot to put toward your après-ski antics, which we are fairly certain that you’ll thank us for later!

2) Secure what you want, where you want...

Catered chalet? Luxury hotel? Self-catered apartment? Or do you even have a particular hotel in mind? At Ski Weekends, we’re all about tailoring your ski holiday to you. Whatever you’re after, don’t limit your options by booking last minute – remember, the more specific your requirements, the earlier you should get it sorted. We want to meet all of your needs down to every last detail, so help us help you!

Popular places are popular for a reason. Whether you’re after a resort that offers extensive skiing, amazing ski schools, or a cracking après ski scene, ski needs are often fairly universal and the chances are that others will be after exactly the same thing as you. So, you know what to do, establish what it is you want from your ski holiday, research what resorts are best for it (our friendly Ski Experts are always on hand to help in this regard) and get it booked up!

3) Book peak dates at low rates...

Thinking about going away over Christmas, New Years, Half-Term or Easter? Yup, so is the rest of the world and his wife. The closer it gets to these big dates the more difficult it becomes find exactly what you want, and when you want it. Big groups should definitely be on top of things, researching the best hotels and locations for their group size & requirements and snapping up those peak dates at the best rates!

4) Book a whole chalet for you and your group...

What's the quickest way to become the most popular, best-loved person in your group? Book an entire chalet! I mean, come on, nothing says VIP like your very own chalet for the week. Well, if you book nice and early you are essentially getting first picks and could secure one of our fantastic chalets when you want, and in the resort of your choice! Whether it’s a corporate group or a group of friends or family, you know that every single group member will thank you for it…

5) Time to sort out that outrageous ski outfit...

It’s no secret that skiing is one of the vainest sports out there, therefore having the right outfit is crucial. Let’s face it, these things take time and it’s something you want to get just right. We know what you’re after - you want peoples' jaws to drop as you glide past them on that black run – you want to hear those envious whispers: ‘where on planet earth did they get that leopard print onesie?!’ So what if it’s a little garish? Just ski past with that head held high - they’re just jealous of your ski technique, and that glorious onesie of course.

6) Give yourself plenty of time to get ski-fit...

Forget getting beach body ready – you need to get sauna bod ready! In all seriousness, getting fit for your ski holiday is one way to significantly enhance your time on the slopes. You don’t want to be puffed out by 11 am, not to mention squeezing into that tight leopard skin onesie – how’s that going to fit after a summer of lying about eating ice cream? You know, getting that trip sorted will give you the inclination and motivation to get squatting, jogging and lifting, and ultimately ski holiday ready…

7) Start collecting the latest gear and gadgets...

Between now and Winter there will be enough new gear and gadgets to fill a piste basher. That’s a lot to buy in one go – having that ski trip planned gives you the time to consider what you want and how in God’s name you use it… It takes a bit of time to figure out right? It's ok, you might be a little bit slow on technology but what you lack in speed in this department you jolly well make up for on the slope.

8) Book now, pay later...

We understand that it’s always nice to have some money in your pocket for your summer holidays. That’s why, if you book now you will only have to pay a deposit of £200 per person on your booking, not having to pay the remainder of your balance until 12 weeks prior to departure. This means that you could also put some dollar toward those gadgets, brand new skis and that leopard print onesie, of course.

 9) Grab yourself a cheeky early booking discount...

That’s right, during the summer months early booking discounts are in abundance and you could snap yourself up something pretty special for fairly little. In fact, between now and the end of May Ski Weekends are offering 10% off all bookings for 2016/17. Not bad eh? And there’s more where that came from – keep your eyes peeled over the Summer for some pretty tasty discounts and then when you see that perfect ski break, pounce on it before some other ski lover does!

10) Something to dream about on the beach...

It’s well known that even the most enthusiastic ski enthusiast needs to spend at least some of the year in shorts but, if you’re anything like us at Ski Weekends, skiing is never too far from mind. Unfortunately, water skiing just doesn’t cut it for us and it is just too damn counter-intuitive – what do you mean ‘lean back’!? Give us a centred flexed position any day of the week…
