LES GETS - THE RESORT

A classical mountain village bursting with Alpine charm, Let Gets is a traditional French Ski Resort that offers great skiing combined with serene mountain escapism. The first ski lift was opened in 1938, and the resort has never looked back since. At first sight, the two areas that make up the Les Gets ski area (Chavannes and Mont-Chery) seem relatively small, but there is much more to Les Gets than first meets the eye.

The Les Gets ski area itself is linked with Morzine and the entire area is included in the local lift pass and between these two resorts, there are around 50 lifts to choose from. The Les Gets ski area is surrounded by beautiful tree lined runs consisting mainly of blues and reds. Those that want to explore further can upgrade to a full area ski pass to explore more of the Portes du Soleil. This will enable you to ski into Avoriaz and into Switzerland taking on resorts such as Les Crosets and Champoussin. Overall, this is a fantastic ski area with some simply breath-taking views and well worth considering for those who like to clock up some mileage and cover large areas as you can ski and bus from Les Gets to Avoriaz it takes between 1 and 2 hours depending on your experience level.

As an added bonus, Les Gets is a ski resort near Geneva. Only an hour's transfer from Geneva airport, Les Gets is easily accessible meaning that those particularly keen skiers can certainly squeeze an extra half a day on the slopes if need be. The resort has great English-speaking ski schools, challenging slopes and safe nursery slopes for children. In the village itself, free shuttle buses and motorised trains mean the streets tend to be car-free, something that contributes to the welcoming, laid back and escapist atmosphere of a ski holiday in Les Gets
