Beginners
Myrkdalen has a fabulous kid’s area with magic carpet and button with some great progressive terrain amongst the trees.
Intermediate
As well as a handful of cruisy reds, perfect for improving technique, Myrkdalen has an abundance of lift-served off-piste routes, so it’s a great place for less experienced powder hounds.
Advanced
For the more adventurous Myrkdalen is a great base to try out ski touring and it is possible to hire a guide to explore some fabulous back country skiing in a truly wild and spectacular setting.
Ski Touring in Myrkdalen
Myrkdalen is surrounded by many beautiful mountains offering endless ski touring opportunities. One of the most accessable mountains is Finnbunuten (1358m) as you can gain height by taking the Kari Traa lift before walking the rest of the way to the top. On a clear day you can enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding glaciers. The ski school at Myrkdalen offers guided tours throughout the season with local guides who have the best knowledge of the area, know where to find the best snow and are experts in avalanche safety and instruction.
Cross Country & Nordic Skiing
Myrkdalen has many kilometres of groomed cross country skiing tracks. A 5km floodlit loop means it’s possible to keep skiing after the sun goes down, which is early in the deepest winter months.
