SKI Area

When viewed as a whole, the Skicircus ski area consists of 4 big resort towns: Saalbach, Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn. The connection with Fieberbrunn was first available in the 2015/16 season, with a gondola linking it up to Saalbach. Following this, the ski area was able to boast 270km of pistes in total, making it the second largest in Austria and ninth in the world. Lift upgrades come like clockwork in this well-oiled Austrian resort, it's home to one of the most sophisticated networks available; offering top of the line, bubble covered chairlifts, with heated seats to boot. You can tackle any weather with a lift system like this.

As far as the skiing or boarding is concerned, you'll find mostly blue and red runs here - perfect for non-stop cruising. More advanced riders will be happy here too, as there are plenty of steeper and more adventurous challenges to be conquered. The highest lifts take you up into the alpine, with a variety of bowls and open faces to be found. Down low everything is tree-lined, with attractive valleys and picturesque pit-stops to be found. A large percentage of Saalbach's slopes are supported by the use of snow cannons, after all the resort altitude is fairly low.

The Ski Alpin lift pass covers not only Saalbach's skicircus, but also neighbouring Zell am See. When lumped together this creates a truly eye-watering amount of terrain. The trip does however involve a bus ride so it's not a truly connected experience. If you're looking for some adventurous freeriding, Fieberbrunn is the place to be, it does host the Freeride World Tour after all! The sidecountry off-pisting is endless, which makes it an ideal place to be situated if the snow is flying. Beginners can also find plenty of areas to learn in the slopes surrounding the main villages. Everyone is catered for here.
