SNOW CONDITIONS IN ALPE D'HUEZ

Due to it's high altitude, the Sarenna glacier and over 900 snow cannons, Alpe d'Huez boasts an excellent snow record with a season that usually runs from mid-December to the end of April. With the height of the resort stretching up to 3300m, it makes it one of the most snow-sure resorts in the Alps.

The best time to ski here is between January and February because the majority of the slopes are south-facing meaning there are plenty of sunny slopes to ski on so you won't freeze early in the season. The flipside to sunny slopes is that around spring time the lower slopes can get a little slushy towards the end of the day but will still find excellent snow cover higher up the mountain.

Is Alpe d'Heuz snow-sure? Our answer would be absolutely. With its high altitude glacier and multitude of snow cannons, Alpe d'Heuz is a safe bet for the majority of the season.
