BRIDES LES BAINS - THE RESORT
An old spa town located at the foot of the 3 Valley’s, Brides Les Bains is somewhat of an unknown gem to many. However, many of our past guests will know that Brides Les Bains is actually a far more economical way of skiing the 3 Valley’s for far less of the cost compared to the resorts higher up the mountain. With a gondola (Olympe) that was put in place to ferry the athletes to and from Meribel for the 1992 Winter Olympics, it is incredibly easy to get up to the ski area (you also get some great views of the valley from there as well!). You also end up with a much quicker transfer time taking a total of around 1hour and 45minutes to 2hours from Geneva – less travel and more ski is always a plus point in our books!
Brides Les Bains is not always covered in snow throughout the winter season, so it does not feel like your typical ski resort. This is quite nice though as it means you can explore the town and the local area with few worries about slipping and sliding all over the place! And explore you may, with some lovely little shops to browse as well as the trails by the River Doron.
If you fancy going further afield though, then Moutiers is around 10-minutes away with a regular bus service linking the two. Moutiers is a fair bit bigger than Brides Les Bains with more shops and restaurants and makes for a lovely little day trip. Another place well worth visiting is Champagny that is just 15-20 minutes away and acts as a gateway to the Paradiski area of La Plagne and Les Arcs, great for those skiers looking to try out new resorts for a day or two!
