People heading on ski weekends for the first time will find that Meribel is an ideal place to cut their teeth, one source has stated.

A post on the Romow travel blog noted that the huge range of beginner slopes in Meribel means that novices are well catered for, while there are also expert instructors on hand to put first-timers through their paces.

"There are nursery slopes above Meribel village and central Meribel that are less likely to present beginner skiers with problems. Once you progress from beginner status it's also easy to access the blue runs slightly further up," the source explained.

It added that there are always plenty of beginners in the resort at any one time, so people can learn in a supportive atmosphere.

Meanwhile, a recent post on TravelBite.co.uk noted that Meribel's mix of great ski slopes, apres ski activities and fine accommodation, means that both newcomers and experienced skiers alike will feel at home there.
