APRÈS-SKI IN AVORIAZ
After being out on the slopes all day, the fun certainly doesn’t have to come to an end in Avoriaz. Although the nightlife here doesn’t have much when compared with the likes of Val Thorens and Val D’lsere, it does have over 40 bars to choose from. Avoriaz is mainly a ski resort for families so expect to find a great choice of places suitable for children. It does, however, have great terrain parks which tend to attract a younger crowd who do find some great après ski spots.
There is one nightclub here called Le Yak which stays open till 5 am, so if you wish to dance through to the early hours of the morning then this is the place to be.
If clubbing really isn’t your thing, then head down to the bowling alley. Open till 3 am you can enjoy friendly entertainment until the early hours, there are also lots of other things to do there such as snooker, video games, pinball and table football so it’s definitely a place for the competitive.
For those looking for late-night drinks but would rather a bar than a club, there are plenty of venues to head too. A favourite place to go in the resort is IT, it boasts a no entry fee and features resident house DJs playing a variety of modern music.
A firm favourite of après ski fans is the ever-expanding chain - La Folie Douce and there is one in the heart of Avoriaz for your enjoyment, can you spot the SkiWeekends Uk team dancing on the tables!
For a more chilled out and relaxing place to go after a long day on the slopes, try the Le Chapka Bar. Also a restaurant and café, this is the perfect place to go for sipping cocktails and nibbling on a variety of tapas dishes.
Le Globe Trotters Café is a popular international pub that has live music and attracts a young British crowd. Another place to go for live music is The Wild Horse Saloon, they also serve up great Mexican dishes and has a great bar menu.
Le Choucas and Le Fantastique are also some other great late-night spots for trying out a cocktail or two.
