APRES-SKI IN MEGEVE
Megève has a low-key and sophisticated après ski scene which is definitely in keeping with the traditional feel of the resort. Although you won’t find any large, rowdy crowds here when compared to other resorts, Megève still has a classy and lively après ski scene, with live music nights, jazz bands and luxurious wine bars.
Megève is also home to one of the latest branches of the Folie Douce. Located at the top of the Mont Joux, this will introduce the cabaret-style afternoon party scenes that are becoming synonymous across France.
A place people go after skiing is Bar des Alpes, it’s an internet café with a sun terrace. 540 café is also a popular pick with a large terrace at the bottom of the Jaillet ski lift. The Village Rock Café is another place favoured by guests looking for something a bit livelier. Pallas is a new bar/restaurant located just above the ice rink. It has a lounge style seating area and a nightclub operates downstairs on Friday and Saturday nights.
Megève Nightlife
This resort is renowned for its jazz clubs and piano bars so try the Cinques Rues jazz club for some live music and cocktails. It’s a cosy place with an open fireplace so definitely a great place to head after dinner as it attracts some of the biggest names in jazz. For a truly relaxing evening try Trappers Bar, a typical old hunting lodge.
Megève is also home to a few nightclubs and bars that stay open until 4 am for the all-night partygoers. Cosmopolitan Bar is open until 5 am, there’s a popular nightclub called Palo Alto and another popular nightspot is a place called Cargo.
