Aprés ski in Megeve

01 January 0001

Megeve has a low-key and sophisticated après ski scene which if definitely in keeping with the traditional feel of the resort. Although you won’t find any large, rowdy crowds here when compared to other resorts, Megeve still has a classy and lively après ski scene, with live music nights, jazz bands and luxurious wine bars.

A place people go after skiing is Bar des Alpes, it’s an internet café with a sun terrace. 540 café is also a popular pick with a large terrace at the bottom of the Jaillet ski lift.

The Village Rock Café is another place favoured by teenagers and young adults looking for something a bit livelier. Pallas is new bar/restaurant located just above the icerink.  It has a lounge style seating area and a nightclub operates downstairs on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Megeve nightlife

New to Megeve is the latest branch of the Folie Douce, located at the top of the Mont Joux, this will introduce the Austrian-style afternoon party scene.  For a truly relaxing evening try Trappers Bar, a typical old hunting lodge.

This resort is renowned for its jazz clubs and piano bars so try the Cinques Rues jazz club for some live music and cocktails.  It’s a cosy place with an open fireplace so definitely a great place to head after dinner as it attracts some of the biggest names in jazz.

Megeve is also home to a few nightclubs and bars that stay open till 4am for the all-night party goers. Cosmopolitan Bar is open till 5am, there’s a popular nightclub called Palo Alto and another popular nightspot is a place called Cargo.
