If you're looking for a family ski holiday to the Chamonix Valley, Argentiere is one of the most family-friendly ski resorts in the valley. Our catered chalets are located in a tranquil edge of forest area at the bottom of the slopes, right next to the Evolution2 childrens Panda ski club which has been a firm favourite with families helping their children to make their first turns on skis while having a lot of fun. With the transfer from Geneva Airport being short and easy, this make travel comfortable for families too.
Discover Les Chosalets – Argentière’s Little Ski Area
Just outside Argentière, and only around 500 metres from the Plan Joran gondola at Les Grands Montets, you'll find Les Chosalets – a tiny ski area that is perfect for beginners and anyone looking to build a little confidence before heading onto the bigger slopes of the Chamonix Valley.
There are just two pistes – one green and one blue – served by two drag lifts, making it a wonderfully simple place to learn. It's suitable for both adults and children, whether you're putting on skis for the very first time or returning to skiing after a long break.
It's also considerably cheaper than buying a full Chamonix Valley lift pass, so it's a great option if you simply want to spend a morning or afternoon finding your ski legs.
Opening hours: 9:00am–4:30pm daily, subject to snow conditions.

There's more than just skiing too. Les Chosalets has a groomed tobogganing area and snow tubing, as well as somewhere to warm up and get something to eat or drink.
It's not somewhere an experienced skier is likely to spend their day, but that's really the point. Les Chosalets is all about making skiing easy and accessible – somewhere to learn, practise or simply enjoy a couple of relaxed hours on the snow before venturing onto the much bigger mountains above Argentière.
Activities for Children
Sometimes keep it simple - build snowmen in the back garden of the chalets, sledge just behind the chalets or play in the Panda Base Camp childrens park.
A trip to the Mer de Glace, France’s largest glacier, is a must-do for families in Chamonix. Take the scenic Montenvers train from Chamonix up to the glacier, where you can explore the fascinating Ice Cave, carved out each year. Kids will be amazed by the shimmering ice sculptures and tunnels, making this a truly magical experience.
Chamonix’s Richard Bozon Sports Centre features a large indoor ice rink that’s perfect for some family fun. Whether your kids are seasoned skaters or trying it out for the first time, they’ll enjoy gliding across the ice in this lively and safe environment. Skate rentals are available, making it easy to get started.
If your kids love water, they’ll enjoy a visit to the Chamonix Centre’s indoor pool complex. With a heated pool, water slides, and a splash area for younger children, it’s a great way to relax and have fun after a day in the cold. The pool also offers stunning views of Mont Blanc, adding to the overall experience.
The Parc de Loisirs de Chamonix is an outdoor amusement park that’s open year-round and offers a variety of activities for children. In winter, kids can enjoy the Alpine Coaster, a thrilling ride down the mountain, as well as other attractions like trampolines and a mini-golf course. It’s a fantastic spot for some adrenaline-pumping fun off the slopes.
Introduce your kids to the rich history and culture of the Alps with a visit to the Mont Blanc Museum. The museum offers interactive exhibits that tell the story of mountaineering in the region, the development of winter sports, and the fascinating local wildlife. It’s both educational and engaging, making it a great indoor activity for families.
