Sledging
- Arosa offers three toboggan runs with a combined length of about 4.7 km, all marked on the resort map.
- The runs start from elevated mountain locations (accessible by train, gondola or walk) and finish back in the valley – giving sledgers the enjoyment of a thrilling descent through snow-covered terrain.
- Night sledging is available: one of the runs is illuminated so guests can sled after dinner or in the evening under lights.
Ice Rink
In Arosa, visitors can swap skis for skates or a curling broom with a range of ice-sports both indoor and outdoor:
- Ice skating: Enjoy the artificial ice-rink at Ochsenbühl (right next to the Arosa Sports & Congress Centre).
- Evening skating & ice-disco: On selected dates (e.g., Tuesday and Thursday nights in late Feb) the rink transforms into an ice disco — lights, music and drinks while you glide.
- Curling: Great for groups. The rink can be booked for 2-hour sessions and instruction is available
- Ice-stick shooting (“Eisstockschiessen”): A fun, social variant of curling
- Local ice hockey team EHC Arosa plays its home games at the main ice rink in Arosa.
Winter Hiking
The region offers over 60 km of winter-hiking trails that lead through snow-covered forests and across ski-areas towards mountain huts.
- Trails run in the main Arosa area, around Langwies, up on the mountain and at the Untersee lake or at Hochwang.
- Detailed route lists including difficulty levels for each hike are available so visitors can choose based on fitness and preference.
- There are themed trails as well, for example the “Squirrel Trail in Winter”, where hikers can discover flora & fauna, feed squirrels and combine learning with walking.
- For those wanting to explore deeper or at a slower pace there’s also snow-shoe hiking available, offering a quieter way to experience the snowy landscape.
Cross-Country Skiing
- Arosa offers a diverse network of cross-country (“langlauf”) trails — through forests, along lakes, and across plateau terrain — catering to both classic and skating styles.
- There is a dedicated pass system: a day pass, weekly pass, and season pass for the cross-country tracks in Arosa.
