ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS IN VAL D'ISERE
For those who aren’t skiers, or for those looking to do something else for a day or two, be sure to check out some of the activities around Val d’Isere and La Daille, such as the BMW sponsored Ice circuit. Choose from a variety of different options, from the ice driving school to karting, it’s a great experience that you won’t forget in a hurry. For bigger groups, why not get involved in the Formula 1 style karting race at around 65 euros per person – just make sure you are the winner, for bragging rights of course…
There is a lot on offer around Val d’Isere, from fashion boutiques to big name brands like Quicksilver and DC, there is more than enough shopping to keep even the most avid shopper entertained! For those more interested in mechanical thrills, then why not jump on a snowmobile, or for you daring souls out there then have a go on an ‘Ulm’ which is basically like motorised paragliding! Sounds fun right?
Throughout the Val d’Isere resort, there is more than enough to do, such as ice skating, tobogganing and dog sleighs, but a more eye-catching event is the night ski races. Watch the pros hurtle down the slopes at high speed trying to top each other’s times whilst you have a Vin Chaud in hand! If you prefer the warmth though, there is a golf simulator and a driving simulator in resort or if you feel like you haven’t had enough exercise for the day, then you can hit the gym – but then again every day is leg day on the slopes, so we won't judge you for skipping this activity!
For the kids, there is a sports centre which is home to two pools and climbing walls, meaning that whilst they are kept entertained you can slide away into the sauna or hot tub to rest those important ski (or drinking!) muscles! It is easy to find as well, as it is by the main lift base down in Val d’Isere Village by the Olympique gondola.
