SNOW CONDITIONS IN VAL D'ISERE

With Val d’Isere being one of the higher resorts in France, it holds the snow very well. The slopes are all well maintained and with an average of 525cm of snow a season and supported by great snowmaking facilities, even the lowest slopes will stay pristine all season.

The snow making in the area really is some of the best you can find in the Alps, and you can rest assured that you will be skiing on good quality snow every day.

The Val d'Isere-Tignes ski area is always well maintained, with a host of piste bashers tirelessly working to enhance conditions. However, the area does have a lot of 'Naturides' which are runs that are deliberately left un-pisted and therefore provide a great challenge for those looking for something a bit different!

The resort tends to stay open for 155 days a season. If you are worried about the snow though, then fear not as the Espace Killy region is home to two skiable glaciers, one of which (the Glacier la Grande Motte, Tignes) is open for most of the year to skiers and snowboarders alike. Not only is it open for most of the year, it also provides some great skiing and absolutely breath-taking views.

Is Val d'Isere snow sure? Yes, most definitely. The resort itself is at 1850m, and with access to high elevation skiing and multiple glaciers, Val d'Isere has an excellent snow sure rating.
