La Folie Douce Val D'Isere

APRES-SKI IN VAL D'ISERE

Whilst France isn’t as well known for its après ski scene as countries like Austria, Val d’Isere is certainly up there as one of the better spots. With the world famous ‘Folie Douce’ on its doorstep, there is time to party all afternoon and then grab the last lift back down to La Daille for those who have had a few too many to drink! Table dancing at the Folie Douce is virtually a rite of passage for après skiers, but just be sure to take the drinks off the table first! (Especially if it isn’t your table!)

Likewise, you can try out the new local favourite après ski bar, ‘Cocorico’ which is fast becoming the liveliest bar on the slopes. With the party starting at 2 pm every day until 8 pm and a happy hour between 2 pm to 4 pm, it is turning into a proper gem out of the Espace Killy bars. Cocorico is located in a great spot on the slopes close to the beginner areas in Val d’Isere Village, meaning you don’t have far to travel at all to get back into Val d’Isere itself. Cocorico is at its busiest on a Wednesday afternoon when all the seasonaires have their day off, so if it is atmosphere you are looking for – try this out! There are plenty of other après ski bars to get involved with if these don’t appeal to you, why not try Le Petit Danoirs or head down to the ‘Baraque’ wine bar in the centre.

VAL D'ISERE NIGHTLIFE

There is plenty to do in the evening around Val d’Isere after a long afternoon of après skiing! So why not carry on the party in one of Val d’Isere’s many bars? The Moris Pub (also known as ‘that Irish bar’ by tourists) is always a good place to start off at with the opportunity to win your drinks round for free once a week, all evening long by playing ‘Toss the Boss’ – don’t worry, it’s just a dice game!

If you are looking for something a bit more sophisticated though, the ‘Baraque’ is a popular wine bar, known for being rather trendy with some great live music, atmosphere, food and of course wine! It really does offer a great change of pace to some of the other bars in the area and is well worth a visit.

Those looking for a late night (or early morning…) need look no further than ‘Dick’s Tea Bar’. Open until the early hours, you can always count on it being busy, after all, it is the most popular club in the resort! If this hasn’t taken your fancy though, then it might be worth trying out the Doudoune Club or eating burgers all night (yes, you read that correctly!) in the Graal Club at their nightclub/burger bar.
